Concrete Construction
Challenge
The contractor was struggling with low flex beam strength and variance between cylinders and core samples.
Results
Cylinder 32-day Strength* = 5.2K psi 32-Day Core = 6.5K psi Sensor 32-Day Strength = 7.2k psi. Flex Beams measured <400psi. REBEL® Sensors were used to prove that the contractor’s results were acceptable, given low flex beam strength and variance between cylinder breaks and core samples.
Key Product
REBEL® Sensors
About the Project
28-day Target Strength= 4K psi cylinders and 550 psi flex beams
A bridge in Indiana on I-69
~ 90 yards of reinforced concrete
6 REBEL Sensors placed in the concrete
Cylinders taken at 1, 4, 7, 14, and 28 days
The REBEL System was deployed, and real-time strength data was provided to prove the results were acceptable and that the bridge could be opened.
The Results
Cylinder 32-day strength =5.2K psi
32-day core= 6.5K psi
Sensor 32-day strength = 7.2K psi
Flex Beams measured < 400 psi
