Frequently asked questions
Are The REBEL® Sensors AASHTO Certified?
The Wavelogix REBEL® Sensor System not only conforms to the T 412 standard but has been shown to be superior to Maturity sensors in horizontal concrete projects such as bridges, pavement and patching.
Are state DOTs embracing ASHTO T 412 instead of cylinder breaks?
Traditionally, the verification of hardened concrete strength relies on AASHTO T 22, which measures compressive strength (psi) at key intervals—3 days, 7 days, 28 days and 56 days using cylinder breaks. While this method remains the industry standard for quality assurance, MassDOT is now embracing AASHTO T 412 as a cutting-edge alternative for certain applications.
